Easy one for me today! Hometown girl, gone big! Katie Crutchfield is my pick! Her first band P. S. Eliot was followed by her current and breakthrough band Waxahatchee. I’ve been fortunate enough to have seen her three times now. The last being at ShoalsFest 2025, where she and MJ Lenderman shared the stage for a few songs on each other’s sets for some collab work. Armed with her guitar and incredible, unique voice she delivers a lovely Indie music vibe! I’m one album shy of her full discography with her band.
She has also put out two other albums with two different music group projects. One is called Plains, a duo of her and Jess Williamson. The other is her latest, a supergroup called Snocaps consisting of her sister Allison Crutchfield, MJ Lenderman, and Brad Cook.
I highly recommend checking her out if you are not familiar. Her latest album under Waxahatchee called Tigers Blood was nominated for Best Americana album 2025.

My faves of hers is off Cerulean Salt, titled "Dixie Cups & Jars". It's a little edgier than her stuff now. Second would be the title song off "Tigers Blood".
