In 1993, producers spent over $1 million dollars to secure the rights for this iconic soundtrack. Nearly 20% of the movies $6.9 million dollar budget. Richard Linklater, the director, believed the soundtrack was key in authentically portraying teenage life in the mid 1970s. The slow motion emporium entrance scene with Bob Dylan's "Hurricane" cost $80,000. Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion" opening scene cost $23,000...
