Something that many of you might not know about me is that I’ve never been a fan of Christmas music. With the exception of Vince Guaraldi Trio’s incredible work on A Charlie Brown Christmas, which is the definitive holiday album as far as I’m concerned, I’ve always just found it to be… a little too much. One thing I do love though is the Fallout video game series and the mid-century jazz/big band soundtracks that it’s curated over the years.

Nuclear Winter Wonderland, a compilation of appropriate holiday songs from that same era in time, doesn’t actually feature any of the music from the games but feels like a perfect companion to those songs to get you in the holiday spirit (even at the end of May). Funny enough when this reissue landed on my doorstep yesterday morning, I couldn’t believe my eyes but it was actually snowing!
