Arktika was a post-rock-band from Cologne, Germany, founded in late 2008. They have released a two-song-12“LP called „Heartwrencher“ through the german label Narshardaa Records on May 14th, 2009. The LP was recorded at „Tonmeisterei-Studios“ in Oldenburg, Germany.
The second album called „At Zero“ was released in october 2010 and the third album titled "Symmetry" came to light in august 2012 both on Narshardaa Records.
Arktika played shows with bands like Envy (jp), Long Distance Calling, Caspian, Constants, Celeste, Scraps of Tape, Daturah, Goldust and many others.
The band had five members: Marc (vocals), Jürgen (guitars), Felix (bass), Tim (guitars) and Jürgen (drums). Jan left the band after the recordings for "at zero" in 2010.
Arktika was named after the russian icebreaker class, the Arktika-class.
They called it quits in november 2012.
