The first show booked before the first chords were written, which leaves a band in a unprecedented situation calling for immediate action. But this is how some stories go. Barely four months after its founding in the summer of 2007 the band hit the stage along with hardcore heavyweights Ruiner and Sinking Ships. From day one the bands mission was clear: Bringing some fun (back) into hardcore. Needless to say they were going to give up on this very soon and would move on into less shallow waters. To not doubt that avoid confrontation with the lyric sheet.
So what have we here? Also random listeners will inevitably remark, that there is more to this than plain hardcore. Guitar riffs from stoner and classic rock make their way into Souls For Sales' sound, without taking the boisterous punk/hardcore energy. Thrash attacks and a metal edge add to something, which is and also wants to be hardcore, but goes beyond the traditional musical scope of the genre.
Switching back to band history: First Demos were recorded in late 2007 and late 2008. Lots of shows were played. In 2010 a second guitarist was added to the lineup and 2011 a new bassplayer joined in, each allowing for more complex and elaborate song structures refining SFSs sound, summing up to the strongest lineup to date. As a logical consequence SFS is heavily engaged with writing material for the successor of their debut EP „All My Favorite Love Songs Are By Cannibal Corpse“ as well as promoting the EP through shows.
