SHIELD was a hardcore band from Umeå, Sweden, founded in 1993. The first release was the song "Outside" on the CD compilation "Straight Edge as Fuck" on Desperate Fight Records in 1994 under the band name "Solitude".

1994 they released their debut EP "Build Me Up ... Melt Me Down ..." on Desperate Fight Records. The group had released their first and only studio album, "Vampiresongs" in 1995 on Desperate Fight Records.
The band broke up shortly before her second album, "Sweetest Poetry".
