Been waiting 13 years for this. 13 years of expectations. I can't help but feel fully satisfied and saddened at the same time. Is this the last? Will there be another one? How long if so? In so many ways it feels devoid of the nostalgia that initially attracted me to them in the first place. It also excites me at how incredible the album is. Some songs feel like tributes to the releases before it. Many songs make me scratch my head or double take because of the amount of voice sampling, the live instrumentation, and how some of it feels ripe for a soundtrack. Did I really expect that the album would just be fan service and do everything we've come to know from them or would they have some new tricks up their sleeve. Yes, I think all of it.

In so many ways the brothers have touched into numerology and cults. It adds more layers to just the music itself. Strangely enough their following, myself included, have become a bit of a cult itself. Spending years anonymously scouring twoism and other forums for signs of a new release or just following up on a feeling that one day there would be a new album as if it were the second coming of Christ. My own son, now 19, a BOC fan even though he was 6 years old when their last album came out. We followed this new campaign together in hopes that it would lead down the same rabbit holes the last viral campaign did for TH. We did the record store listening party and could not wait to dive deeper into all the secrets this new album would provide. Every listen thereafter feels like a surreal homecoming for an artist that makes its audience feel nostalgic.
