Alive Records\' catalogue originally focused on reissues of artists such as Mick Farren of the Deviants, Nikki Sudden and the Swell Maps, and John Sinclair of the MC5, until it entered into a distribution deal with Mordam records in 2001. By then, Boissel had changed the label\'s direction, renamed it Alive-Natural Sound, and started signing new acts, including the Akron blues rock duo The Black Keys. In 2002, Alive-Natural Sound released The Big Come Up, the album which launched the Black Keys\' career.
