Califone - Villager's Companion. This was a fun one. The band did a living room tour in the fall of 2024 through Undertow media. For those who don't know how that works, artists partner with Undertow to book shows in peoples' homes. They'll take dates from bands, release those on their site, and then any fans who have a space and want to host a date can reach out thru there. Once the band approves a location, fans buy tickets through Undertow for a certain city, but you only get the address and house rules until after you buy.

Seattle sold out before I knew what was going on, so I made the trip down to Olympia, WA to see these guys. I didn't know what to expect but the hosts, other fans, and band members were very kind. 50 cap little downstairs den. We chatted before and after the show and I even got invited to hang around the campfire after the band took off. It was like a "grown up" version of the house shows I went to in my 20s.

As for the record, it's a collection of B-sides from Califone's album Villagers. They had these advance copies that Tim signed for their run of shows. It was great to get to hear that stuff a few months ahead and talk to Tim at the merch table a bit.
