Emmit Fenn has been at the top of my Spotify for a couple of years now, and I wish this wasn’t his only vinyl. I always tell people how his music is so eclectic and goes from these beautiful, soft ballads, to these hard-hitting bangers! This album is definitely on the softer side, but I chose it because there is this shift that happens between the end of Side A and the beginning of Side B. Side A seems to talk about grief and loss, but then Side B turns to acceptance and reflection. “Where I Went Wrong” seems to be about confusion over a relationship that ended for the better. It’s the start of this endless process of moving on that ends with the song “Moving On” and the realization that closure may never come. The album cleverly ends with the same violin crescendo that started the record.
