The first press was supposed to have black and red a-side and b-side labels, but when we got the order back from the plant they had printed the labels black and silver. Since it was their error, they offered to repress the entire order with the correct color free of charge ... the only problem was that the record release show was three days away, and there would be no way to have the correct records in time.
The plant let us keep 200 records to compensate for the mess up so we had vinyl to sell at the show, and we just made the black vinyl with silver labels the "record release" version. We kept 50 red mess ups for the hell of it, and sent the rest back.
