JULY! I spent the whole morning listening to opening tracks thanks to this lovely challenge. This was a tough pick. I really wanted something Grand here. Michael Kiwanuka's 'Cold Little Heart' from 'Love & Hate'. (Of 'Big Little Lies' fame). I mean, what a track. The background vocals in the opening make it feel like the climax of a spaghetti western and it takes you on a multi-leg journey from there. What a perfect opening track.
July 27th 2013 friends and I traveled over to an overnight camp at Codfish Hollow Barnstormers In Maquoketa, IA without even knowing who was playing but we caught Mark Mulcahy -w Pomegranates / Healing Power opening. Picked this album up there. What a magical venue. We returned the very next weekend to camp over for Norah Jones. Swoon. 🧡
I first saw this painting "Dance of the Wind and Storm." By Thomas Blackshear online and noted to my partner that "it looked Exactly like the two of us". Once I put the two & two together with the Killers 'Imploding the Mirage' album I immediately picked it up. Great album, and selfie.
My late entry for June's favorite Blue album. This soundtrack by Ugly Casanova is out of this world. -w gems from Jack Johnson, James Mercer (The Shins), M.Ward, Andrew Bird, Wilco, and Mason Jennings. Swoon. 🫶🩵
